Celebrating 30 Years

In 1989 I moved to Olympia from Seattle to do some contract work. When that finished, I decided to stay but I didn’t have a job. What to do? In some ways it looked easy to open my own business. I knew how to do that from watching my dad and his family (all doctors ) over the years. But what kind of practice? Who would I help? I chose immigration when I remembered the struggles of my international student friends in college. Plus, no one in Olympia was even thinking about immigration as a practice area. I was the only one.

Another bonus, in 1990 The Immigration Act had just been radically changed. I could learn it along with the established immigration lawyers. I’ve never looked back.

Immigration has always been our only practice area.
